Trinidad James put to rest all speculation on whether he felt slighted by a jab directed at him by J. Cole in song ‘Villumanati.’
“He was just expressing himself,” James said during an interview with MTV News.” If you take a step back and listen to the song, he was just spitting how he felt. I can never be mad at someone spitting how they feel. It is what it is. I don’t live for that type of stuff.”
The lyrics in question which had everyone buzzing was, “My pop’s was club hopping back when Rick James was out/And all I get is/ Trinidad James, wait a minute that’s strange/Sip a bit of champagne, say fuck/If the hoes like it, I love it nigga nigga nigga.”

James was not the sole target of Cole’s verbal diss. The North Carolina rapper also took a jab at Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z in the song, rapping, “Pac had a nigga saying ‘Fuck Jigga, fuck Biggie’ I was only like eleven so forgive me.”
