Chinx Talks Favorite Song On ‘Cocaine Riot 5,’ Explains How Music Is Different

Chinx’s “Cocaine Riot 5” was his final mixtape before his tragic murder. Chinx, born Lionel Pickens, was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting. He was 31.

Hip Hops Revival had an opportunity to sit down with the Coke Boy to discuss “CR5” and his style of music.

“My favorite joint on ‘Cocaine Riot 5’ gotta be ‘Dope House’ featuring my n*gga Kiss,” Chinx told HHR. “That’s just that real New York sh*t to the core. …I got the beat from my homie velous. Shout out to Velous, Coke Boy. He sent me a couple tracks and I just locked in on that sh*t on a late night.”

Chinx said he doesn’t have a sound.

“I feel like all my projects is different,” he continued. “I don’t have no sound. I get bored with music fast. I may sound like this today and I may sound like this tomorrow cause I feel like. I do what I want. I try to switch it all the time.”
