Lil Bibby was imparted some wisdom by the Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons when stopping by Sway In The Morning show during SXSW.
It’s a common saying that birds of a feather flock together. Russell incorporated this theme in advice to the up and coming Hip Hop MC.
“It’s very important that you’re entourage, choose carefully,” the founder of Def Jam said. “Certain people took their stardom and couldn’t get as great as it could’ve been. I watch Jay and DMX at the same time. I signed them both. Let’s not act like DMX wasn’t one of the greatest that ever lived. The choices you make in life, you dissipate or you hone your talent. You make it worse or you make it better. It’s important you look up and keep moving up because you’ll lift people around you.”
