Nicki Minaj recently sat down with The Breakfast Club on Power 105 to talk about her music career. The conversation soon turned to her relationship with hype man Scaff Beezy, who she described as her “adopted son from Somalia.”
The conversation took an awkward turn when she called Beezy a “coon” for not being a fan of her single “Super Bass.” Later in the interview, she referred to him as a “coon” again.
The racial slur “coon” was uttered by George Zimmerman minutes before he murdered the 17-year-old Martin, who was walking home from the store from picking up snacks.
Nicki Minaj recently sat down with Funk Master Flex on New York City’s Hot 97 to discuss the Trayvon Martin situation. Referring to Zimmerman, she said “If that man were black they’d bring out the electric chair for him.”
It is baffling how Minaj would utter the racial slur to millions of listeners who follow and mimic her every move. It is even more baffling that she used word weeks after Zimmerman’s former media spokesperson Joe Oliver referred to the term “coon” as a term of endearment.
