Chicago saw 25 people become victims of gun violence over the weekend. A 3-year-old boy was the City’s youngest victim.

The boy, Dwayne Franklin Jr., was riding in the car with his stepdad in South Side Chicago when they were caught in gunfire in the Washington Park neighborhood early Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The boy’s stepdad told the Tribune he didn’t know it was gunshots.

“I didn’t know it was gunshots,” the boy’s stepdad said. “I just heard something hitting the car.”

The boy is currently in stable condition at Comer Children’s Hospital.

Later that day, a 16-year-old girl died after she was accidentally shot in the eye at a home in the West Woodlawn neighborhood.

Chicago rapper Lil Mouse was shot around 3 p.m. in the Wild Hundreds. Mouse was shot in the West Pullman neighborhood, near the West 118th Street and South Emerald Avenue. He is currently in stable condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
