It’s always something going on in Chicago. 600Breezy is unsure the violence in Chicago will ever end. The Team600 rapper’s pessimism is due to a shocking story of an argument between two elderly men ending in gun violence.
Breezo posted the story on IG with a caption, reading, “Chicago can not be saved….Stop blaming it on the youth. This old a-- n***a just did a entire drive by off a hover round. This is what our children have to look up too. Pray for Chicago cause we need it. This is somebody’s grandfather tho.”
Ted Merchant, 67, is accused of fatally shooting 87-year-old Allen Smith following a heated argument during Bible Study.
Merchant, who was sitting on a motorized scooter, shot Smith in the face on the back patio of the Senior Suites of Rainbow Beach. When Smith collapsed, Merchant drove closer and fired more shots.
Merchant fled the scene in his scooter, then got into a black Lincoln Town Car in the center’s parking lot where he remained for five hours before police found him and arrested him.
Merchant was charged with first-degree murder and ordered held on $500,000 bond.
