Rising Chicago MC Benzo is currently prepping the release of his much-anticipated sophomore mixtape “Rich Then Famous.”
The “Pocket Full” rapper secured the assistance of the Chi’s most prominent DJs for the Fall release, including DJ Shon, who regards himself as Benzo’s “official DJ.”
“Me and Shon, plus two other DJs- Honorz and Amaris- we gon work on my new mixtape coming out in September called “Rich Then Famous,” Benzo explained during an interview with LabLife TV.
“I already got a mixtape out called “JayLoud City The Jump Off” hosted by DJ Shon, Y Dot G Dot and DJ Louie V, stack or starve,” he added.

“JayLoud City” is an ode to slain Chicago rapper Joshua Davis, affectionately known to friends and family as “Jay Loud.”
No word on the mixtape’s exact release date, but it is slated to drop some time in September.
