Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 Brother, Santino Boderick, Turns Down 15-Year Plea Deal, Faces 80 Years In Prison

Bobby Shmurda was among four GS9 members who were offered plea deals in court today. Bobby pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Rowdy Rebel, whose real name is Chad Marshall, and Nicholas McCoy, were also offered plea deals. Bobby, Rowdy and Nicholas agreed to seven years in prison rather than risk trial, which was set to begin Monday.

Fourth defendant, Santino Broderick, is going to take his chances in trial after turning down a 15-year plea deal. Broderick faces charges of conspiracy, attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.

Broderick was visibly upset with his plea deal in court.

“Fifteen? Dang. My life is over,” he can be overheard telling his attorney Kevin Canfield, according to The New York Daily News.

Canfield replied to Broderick, “You want 80 or you want 15?”

Broderick will stand trial next week.

Santino, known as “Cueno,” is accused of shooting at members of the rival Folks Nation gang in July 2014.

Bobby pleaded guilty to 4th-degree conspiracy, which carries a sentence of one to three years, and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession, which carries a sentence of seven years, according to Billboard. The two charges will run concurrently, meaning Bobby will face a maximum of seven years in prison.

Bobby will also face five years of probation, according to TMZ.

Bobby, who has been in jail since December 2014, will get credit for time served, leaving five years remaining on his sentence.

Bobby faced 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

It was perhaps a smart decision for Bobby to take the plea deal. The justice system showed no mercy to GS9 members A-Rod and Rasha.

A-Rod, whose real name is Alex Crandon, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 53 1/3 years in prison for conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and other charges.

Rasha, whose real name is Rashid Derissant was sentenced to 98 years on gang-related charges, including conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and assault.
