Cardi B has had a great year so far thanks to her hit song “Bodak Yellow.”
Cardi took to IG today to announce her worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV Publishing.
She wrote in her caption, “Thank you THANK YOU @sonyatvmusicpub. Im happy to be a part of your brand and looking forward to working with you !!..when eaters be poppin s— under my comments like oooo “she don’t write her s—” sooo how I got a publishing deal then? !!!!…Too much mufuckas done doubted me that’s why I have to just prove it s/o @jennydrake.”
Sony/ATV announced the deal on their respective IG account as well.
The caption on their post read, “We’re so excited to announce, #CardiB has joined the #SonyATV family! We are so honored to be working with such a special talent, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings Welcome, Cardi B!”
Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” spent three weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It has also been certified platinum.
“Bodak Yellow” has sold nearly 500,000 digital downloads in the United States, and has been streamed more than 440 million times, Billboard reports.
Cardi is the second female in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 with a solo rap song. Lauryn Hill was the first Hip Hop artist to do so with “Doo Wop/That Thing.”
