Chicago Filmmaker Cassidine Explores Chief Keef’s O’ Block Neighborhood

Chicago filmmaker Cassidine took on the task of going to Interscope artist Chief Keef’s gritty O’ Block neighborhood.

Chief Keef, born Keith Cozart, can be heard occasionally referencing O’ Block and Lamron in songs. Lamron is street name “Normal” spelled backwards.

This neighborhood is the territory of notorious street gang Black Disciples.

Cassidine says residents of Chicago are living in the “hardest trials and tribulations.”

To be from Chicago and in Chicago, he said, it’s hard.

“First off, people don’t even know that Illinois is in debt so bad. It’s no jobs. It’s poverty. It’s ni**as hungry,” he said. “It’s people lapping up in cars. It’s people living real deep. Five people per room type sh*t. Too many people in one house. Too much gang activity. Everybody a thug. Everybody bang bang. This sh*t here got worse. This sh*t remind me of the 90s the way Chicago is now.”
