A Calumet Heights man has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a longtime friend over the Fourth of July weekend, according to the Chicago Tribune. John Watley, 58, allegedly shot and killed 48-year-old Anthony Strong for touching his Cadillac, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Watley became so angry that Strong and others were touching his vehicle that he grabbed a machete out of his home and told everyone to get away from it, DNAinfo.com reports.

Everyone reportedly scattered, but Strong continued to drum his fingers on his car. Watley went back inside his house and returned with a gun. Watley again demanded Strong to stop touching his car, but he refused.

Strong was then shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Watley, who admitted to shooting Strong, was ordered held without bail.
