Chicago Rapper Elz Suspected of Planning Robbery Of Loyola University Cafeteria

Chicago rapper Elz, whose real name is Martell Howze, and Rodrick Moore are behind bars after they were suspected of planning the robbery of a Loyola University cafeteria.

Moore, 31, allegedly approached cafeteria workers on Dec. 13 with a bb gun around 2 A.M. and ordered the safe opened. He reportedly made off with $2,811 before authorities apprehended him, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Cook County prosecutors alleged the robbery was planned for weeks, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Howze, an employee of the dining hall, taught Moore the layout of the dining hall, how to get past the security door and where to find the safe, DNAInfo reports.

Elz had more charges tacked onto his case after he tried to escape a police station holding cell, according to CBS Chicago. He reportedly kicked, punched and bit officers, but was eventually subdued.

He now faces charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery and attempted escape. His bail has been set at $325,000.

Moore is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping and concealing his identity. He is being held on $150,000.
