The murder of 7-month-old baby Rosie was committed by her own 52-year-old grandmother.
Manuela Rodriguez was charged with one count of first-degree murder in Rose Herrera’s death, according to CBS Chicago.
An autopsy showed Rosie died of suffocation from a sock before her throat was cut with a power saw, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
NBC Chicago reports Rodriguez killed the baby because she shouldn’t stop crying.
Rodriguez attempted to kill herself with the power saw. Her mug shot shows the extent of the injuries she inflicted on herself.
Chicago rapper Lil Durk was outraged upon hearing news of Baby Rosie’s death.
Durk commented on the incident on IG, writing, “Not the kids n-ggas kill kids now???? You ain’t no killer you a b-tch.”
