Chiraq Rapper ‘Thugga’ Killed While Filming Music Video, Rico Recklezz Reacts



Damond Dawson, who performed under the rap moniker “Thugga,” was shot and killed early Tuesday while filming a music video at a park on the South Side of Chicago.



Dawson, 23, was joking with friends and wrapping up filming for song “Two Techs and a 50 Shot” around 2:20 a.m., according to when gunmen approached and started shooting at Auburn Gresham neighborhood’s Foster Park, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Dawson was shot in the back of the head and pronounced dead at the scene.



Four others were also shot, including Dawson’s younger brother, and taken to a local hospital, the Chicago Tribune reports. A 19-year-old woman was shot twice in the groin; a 20-year-old man was shot nine times in the leg and shoulder; a 25-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the leg; and an 18-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the back.



Rico Recklezz was extremely upset with Dawson’s passing, revealing they were blood-related on social media.

“Dis sh*t jus hurt my heart,” Rico wrote on IG. “RIP my f****n brother, my homie Damo.”







The shooting was recorded on video. The camera and footage was turned over to police, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
