Don Lemon made a shocking revelation during his live CNN town hall-styled meeting on race challenges in America.
Lemon revealed a National Guard Officer referred to Ferguson’s predominantly African American protesters as “n*ggers” when speaking to his white producer.
“They said you wanna get out of here cause you’re white,” Lemon said. “These n-words… you never know what they’re gonna do.”
Lemon’s meeting came amid racially charged protests in Ferguson over the police shooting death of college bound teen Mike Brown.
Governor Jay Nixon appointed National Guard brigadier general Gregory Mason, who happens to be African American, to oversee their operation in Ferguson.
Missouri Highway State Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, who is also African American, was also appointed in hopes of quelling the unrest.
The Ferguson protests enter its 12th day as demonstrators call for the end of police brutality in black communities around the nation.
