Def Jam To Market Lil Durk As ‘50 Cent Meets Justin Bieber’

Def Jam has huge plans for how they want to market the image of rising Chicago rap star Lil Durk.

They hope to “frame” Durk as a hyper-masculine, thuggish heartthrob.

“We wanna frame him as 50 Cent meets Justin Bieber!” Durk’s Def Jam A&R Sickamore told online magazine Vice.

Durk was honored by Sickamore’s comments.

“Shit, man, all compliments is good compliments,” he told Vice. “You gotta believe in yourself. You put a motherfucker to the test and see how he feel, like, “Yo, black man, you think you better than an award-winning rapper?” If they be like, “I dunno,” that mean they don’t believe in themself. That mean it ain’t for you.”

Asked by the online publication if he was a “Belieber,” Durk replied, “Yeah.

Durk also mirrors the image of the two music superstars as he not only raps, but also sings.

Durk commented on his double arsenal on Twitter.

“Studio makin hits sing rap lol all dat got me dis money,” he wrote.
