Endia Martin would’ve turned 15 years old Monday, May 26 before her untimely death.
Endia was fatally shot the afternoon of Monday, April 28 following a fight with another group of girls on her way home from school.
Endia Martin’s parents turned their daughter’s b-day into a joyous occasion rather than a day of mourning. Kent and Jonie Dukes Kennedy held a b-day celebration Sunday in their daughter’s memory at a neighborhood school playground, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
The day was filled with food, music and fun.
Authorities have charged a 14-year-old girl as a juvenile with first-degree murder Tuesday, according to the Sun-Times. The girl’s uncle and another individual, ages 17 and 24, have also been arrested and charged with the gun that was used in the shooting, according to ABC 7. Sun Times reports one of the individuals brought the gun to the scene, knowing there would be a fight.
