Family & Friends Hold Candlelight Vigil For L’A Capone



Family and friends are mourning the loss of Leonard Anderson, an aspiring musician who performed under the rap moniker “L’A Capone.”

Loved ones created a memorial and held a candle light vigil for the “Play For Keeps” rapper.







Anderson, who hailed from the 600 block in the Englewood neighborhood, succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting upon leaving a recording studio.

Anderson entered an alley around 6:25 p.m. following his recording session when an unknown assailant fired several shots, striking the “Round Here” rapper in the right thigh and lower back, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Medical personnel transported Anderson to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m. He was 17.

Anderson, who was a burgeoning rap artist, was featured in multiple Hip Hop blogs. His viral hit songs include, “Play For Keeps,” “Round Here,” “Shooters,” “Murder,” “The Gat” and “So Loud.”
