RondoNumbaNine’s fate may end becoming a tragic tale of art imitating life.
Rondo, a budding South Side Chicago rapper, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a dispatch driver, according to the Chicago Tribune. He is being held on $2 million bail.
RondoNumbaNine, born Clint Massey, is accused of shooting and killing 28-year-old Javan Boyd on Feb. 22.
Rondo, 17, and an unnamed accomplice allegedly fired their handguns into Boyd’s vehicle as he was waiting for a passenger, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Boyd was reportedly shot seven times in all, including, twice in the back and three times in the leg.
A portion of the crime was caught on surveillance camera, according to the Sun-Times. Rondo’s fingerprints were allegedly found on the cab, according to the Tribune.
News of Rondo’s arrest shook social media with many people using their platforms to weigh in on the issue.
