Former University of Texas Student Sues Sigma Phi Epsilon for Sexual Assault

A former student at University of Texas at Austin is suing Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity for contributing to her sexual assault.

The student alleges the sexual assault occurred following a party during news student orientation, student newspaper The Daily Texan reports.

The victim was allegedly served trash can punch spiked with Everclear, ultimately impairing her, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Texan. The victim alleges she fell asleep at the house and woke up the next day with her reported abuser.

The victim’s suit claims the fraternity assaulted her and inflicted emotional distress by serving her alcohol, according to The Texan.
