Jarell Brooks, 19
Jarell Brooks, an Aurora, CO man, is being heralded as a hero for his selfless actions in rescuing a woman and her two small children during a deadly Colorado theater shooting spree that left 12 people dead and 58 injured.
Brooks, 19, even took a bullet as he guided Patricia Legaretta and her 4-month-old baby and 4-year-old daughter to safety.
Brooks took to Youtube to create a personal vlog thanking everyone who has been sending him out “friend requests, Facebook messages,” and “posts online.”
It, he said, was greatly appreciated.
But Brooks wanted to “make it known” that he “wasn’t the only person affected” by the tragedy.
“There was other families affected who were affected both emotionally and physically, so keeping sending you prayers out to them,” he said.
“I would like say thank you to Vanessa Ryder for starting the campaign and I want to send a special shout out to Patricia and her family,” he said. “I pray that she is doing is well. Send your prayers up to them. Once again, I thank everybody.”
