A Kappa Alpha Psi member has allegedly confessed to killing his girlfriend Bianca Tanner who has been missing for nearly a month, according to WNCN.

Charlotte native Angelo Grayson Smith Jr. was arrested early Thursday and charged with first-degree murder, according to The Charlotte Observer. He was reportedly ordered held without bail in Mecklenburg County jail.

Smith was initially arrested last week for contributing to the delinquency of a child after fleeing to Chicago to stay with family members due to death threats. Smith alleged to have left Tanner’s 3-year-old son home alone the night she went missing. He was extradited to Charlotte Monday and released on $20,000 bail.

Body remains suspected to be Tanner’s were discovered in a wooded area in southwest Charlotte. The remains have been sent to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Officer for identification.

Tanner, 31, recently moved to Charlotte from Greensboro with her son to work as a teacher, according to WFSB 3. She was last seen June 7 and reported missing the next day.
