Kendrick Lamar can claim the Hip Hop throne after pulling in impressive numbers for his fourth studio album “Damn.” The Bompton emcee sold 603,000 copies of his project in the first week since its release, Billboard reports.
Kendrick’s album debuted atop the Billboard 200 album chart Sunday with highest sales figures of 2017 thus far, Newsweek reports.
Kendrick reportedly sold 353,000 in traditional digital download sales. He sold 227,000 units in streaming equivalent numbers. An additional 23,000 units came from track equivalent album (TEA) sales.
