L’A Capone’s posthumous mixtape project “Separate Myself” is a reality and will soon be available to fans. Capone’s promo video for the forthcoming project hit the net this past weekend and provides a brief montage of the slain rapper’s music career.
Lil Durk first revealed news of the project with a flier via IG. Capone’s mixtape will be hosted by DJ Bandz.
“Shit go crazy rip #lacapone we turning up for you squad #OTF #600,” the caption read.
L’A Capone, an up and coming artist who hailed from Chicago’s 600 block, succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting upon leaving a recording studio. He was 17.
Lil Durk and RondoNumbaNine dropped Capone’s last recorded song “Brothers” on Christmas day. Ricco On Tha Beat lent his talents on the track’s production.
Capone anchors the track, rapping, “I promise I won’t switch/You son of a b***h/At 16 had a dream, we was gonna get rich/We gone wake up, put the pipe on/Always been on my own/Gotta stay strong/I gotta be put in my zone/Feeling like I wanna go home, but I’m out here/I put that bug in her ear/I gotta see a mil one year.”
