Lil Bibby is making a name for himself in the underground rap circuit.

The “Know That” rapper even got a co-sign from Hip Hop superstar Drake himself.

Lil Bibby, whose birth name is Brandon Dickinson, revealed during an internet with blogger Karen Civil how he earned his stage name.

“I used to play basketball when I was a kid,” he said. “I used to have that jump shot like Mike Bibby.”

But Lil Bibby left sports alone to pursue music.

“I got into a lot of stuff when I was in the streets,” he said. “I stopped playing basketball. It stopped being fun.”
