Social media erupted with rumors that Lil Durk was robbed during his performance at Club C.I.C. in Newark, NJ.
It was alleged a gang by the name “280 Boys” were behind the alleged crime.
Durk posted a video addressing the alleged controversy.
“Motherf*ckers saying they robbed me and s**t, knock it the f*ck off man, period,” he said. “Same n***a. Still in the same spot, man. Y’all better kill them motherf*cking rumors, right now. I ain’t none of these fufu ass rappers.”
Fans weighed in on the issue around social media.
This isn’t the first time a Durk performance sparked controversy. Violence broke out during a scheduled Aug. 20, 2013 performance at Skully’s Music Diner & Bar in Columbus, OH.
Footage surfaced online showing Lil’ Durk, born Durk D. Banks, attempting to diffuse a crowd situation, repeatedly telling patrons to “chill” and to instead enjoy themselves and “turn up.”
The hostility in the crowd heightened and Durk was subsequently assaulted after being hit with a barstool.
Gunshots can later be heard going off.
