On IG, he added, “Put RIP the new durk….. Back to the roots.”

Durk didn’t do so well on his sophomore album “Lil Durk 2X.” The OTF frontman moved approximately 7,745 physical copies of the project in its opening week, according to HitsDailyDouble.

This, combined with streaming sales, amounts to a total of 12,259 units.

Lil Durk says he opted for a different strategy with his sophomore album “Lil Durk 2X.” Durk told HipHopDX during an interview he went back to his roots with this project.

“The last album, I followed everybody else, did what they wanted to do and put it together how they did it,” said Lil Durk. “But this album, I did me. I had fun with it. It’s way different, you going to tell the difference if you hear it.”

Durk’s 13-track project features guest appearances from Future, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Yo Gotti and Dej Loaf. Durk’s project is available for purchase on iTunes.
