Lil Herb Signs To Cinematic Music Group, Forms 150 Dream Team Imprint

Congratulations are in order for Lil Herb who just signed a deal with Cinematic Music Group. The South Side Chicago rapper even gets an imprint out of the deal. The deal allows G Herbo to put his NLMB team on through 150 Dream Team imprint.

Jonny Shipes, founder of Cinematic Music Group, says he’s big fan of Herb.

“I’ve been a fan of Herb since I first heard Welcome To Fazoland,” Shipes told XXL Mag. “The name of the company is Cinematic because whoever, whatever type of artist that can paint that picture, whether it be street music or conscious music, whatever it is, reggae, he’s going to paint a picture that’s cinematic via the music. I think with Herb, I feel like I’m walking the streets of Chicago with him when I listen to him. Aside from him being a really dope rapper, storyteller and vivid painter, the youth f---- with him super hard. I have been in talks with Machine Entertainment and basically we just kept talking. I went down to Chicago, I had Herb at SXSW at the Smokers Clubhouse and it just made sense. We kind of like worked a little bit on a trial period, trying to get it together and now it’s finalized and I’m excited. I think we’re going to do some special s--- with him.”

Shipes gave the scoop on what Herb has on his plate.

“We’re putting out ‘Ballin’ Like I’m Kobe’ mixtape, latest in October but it’s probably coming in September,” Shipes told XXL in a phone interview. “We’re going to do a whole bunch of visuals, really nice and put together. Then he’s going to go on The Smokers Club Tour this fall. So like 30-40 cities this fall. Then next year we will put out his debut album.”

Herb joins Mick Jenkins, Big KRIT, Joey Bada$$ and Smoke DZA at Cinematic.
