Lil Peep filmed his last moments alive last night. Peep, born Gustav Ahr, died after overdosing Xanax before hitting the stage before a show. He was 21.

The Emo artist recorded himself popping six Xanax pills before his death.

“I almost choked to death,” Peep said after consuming the pills.

He continued, “El Paso, I took six Xanax, and now it’s lit. I’m good. I’m not sick. I’ma see y’all tonight.”

“After speaking with people on scene and going into the tour bus, (police) said that there was evidence of a possible drug overdose, most likely from Xanax,” Sgt. Pete Dugan told CNN in a phone interview Thursday.

“Obviously, we’re not medical examiners, so there will be an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death,” Dugan said, adding that there was “no sign of any kind of foul play” and police are “treating it as a suspicious death case, most likely from an overdose.

Peep’s manager Chase Ortega confirmed Peep’s death on Twitter, writing, “I’ve been expecting this call for a year. Mother f**k.”

Peep’s second manager Mikey Cortez was also distraught by Peep’s death.

“I’m completely heart broken and lost right now,” Cortez said on Instagram. “I can’t even feel it’s not real. I love you and I’ll miss you always. One of the realest. Please someone tell me this isn’t real.”

Many recording artists took to social media to pay their respects to Peep, including Post Malone, Marshmello and Rich Chigga, to name a few.

Post Malone posted a photo of himself with Peep with a caption, reading, “In the short time that I knew you, you were a great friend to me and a great person. Your music changed the world and it’ll never be the same. I love you bud. Forever.”

Marshmello told followers on Twitter that he and Peep were in preparation to collab on new music.

“I cant even believe this. We were just talking last week about working on a song together and now you’re gone. You will be missed, R.I.P.,” he wrote on Twitter. “Peep was the nicest person. hanging out with him, talking to him about music, the song ideas we were going to do together and touring was so amazing. Everyone will miss you man.”

Chigga wrote on Twitter:

“R.I.P. Lil Peep. im glad I got to meet you when were in dc, this s**t is crazy.

It’s important to be positive at a time like, tell your friends you love them and how much you appreciate them.”
