Huffington Post writer Marc Lamont Hill took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the controversial same-sex wedding ceremony where one of the grooms happens to be a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Hill, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, doesn’t know what all the fuss is about writing, “I’m surprised this is news. I know brothers in multiple frats who have married each other. Can’t wait until this isn’t a thing.”
“I love when people say ‘there are no gay people in my fraternity/ sorority/ chapter/ etc,’” he wrote. “Odds are, somebody who made u was gay.”
Kappa Alpha Psi member Nathaniel Gay and his partner Robert Brown held a crimson-and-cream themed ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 8 in Lexington, KY.
Brown took to Twitter to express his happiness over his marriage and shared video of his wedding ceremony.
“My wedding day….Robert + Nathanael 9.8.12,” he wrote.
”@SamChampion congrats on your engagement! just married my husband in kentucky!” he wrote.
Gay also shared his husband’s joy by sharing the video of his ceremony on his personal Twitter account. Gay even tweeted popular reality television star NeNe Leakes asking she could retweet his wedding.
”@NeNeLeakes can you retweet my wedding in honor?” he wrote.
The viral wedding video shows groom Nathaniel Gay with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity brothers locking up and performing their signature “Yo” hand sign.
Robert Brown, who uploaded the wedding ceremony to his YouTube account, wrote on his channel, “perhaps because my husband is a kappa.”
