Max B is currently mourning the tragic death of his brother Chinx Drugz. Chinx, born Lionel Pickens, died Sunday after he was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting. He was 31.
Max B, who is currently serving a 75-year sentence in NJ State Prison for murder, expressed his thoughts on Chinx’s death during a phone interview with Revolt TV.
“Sh*t just senseless. Ain’t even no explaining it, man,” he said. “We lost another young, inspiring brother tryna do the right thing and stay off these streets and feed his family. Every time that sh*t happens, it push us back another 20 years. It feel like we ain’t learning, man. These young n*ggas out here ain’t learning nothing. No father figures. They shooting first.”
Chinx’s tragic murder may be linked to death of rap affiliate Stack Bundles, police sources told the New York Daily News.
Stack Bundles, born Rayquan Elliot, was gunned down outside of his Far Rockaway apartment building on June 11, 2007.
“They were friends, Stack Bundles and Chinx. They were friends, so we’re looking at all hip-hop angles,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told the Daily News.
Chinx and Bundles grew up together in the Far Rockaway section of Queens and started their own rap crew Riot Squad, in the early 2000’s, according to AllHipHop.
“I love Chinx. I’ma miss him,” Max said. “Rest in peace. I just wanted to put that out there [and] send my condolences to his family, his girl, his Moms, his Pops, French [Montana], the whole crew. I went through this with Stack. This another sad day, man. This shit took us back another 30, 40 years. N****s ain’t learning nothing. We dying for nothing. We killing each other, dog. Shit gotta stop. We gotta do better than that, man.
“…I send my condolences,” he said. “We gon miss you. We gone hold it down for you, dog. You was on your way to becoming something great. We know you in a better place.”
