A New Orleans family honored 18-year-old Renard Matthews in an interesting way during his wake. Renard, who was shot and killed Saturday, June 23, was positioned in front of a TV playing NBA 2K with his favorite snacks. He also wore his favorite team’s paraphernalia – The Boston Celtics.

Renard’s wake was held at Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home in Treme on Sunday, July 8. He will be buried Tuesday.

Renard was shot in the head just hours after he was last seen walking his dog.
