Famous Dex was buzzing way before his deal with Rich The Kid’s Rich Forever/300 Entertainment. Rich The Kid revealed during an interview with Hot 107.9’s The Durtty Boyz that Lil Uzi Vert hipped him to Dex.

“My homeboy Grams, he live in New York. He was like, ‘This kid Dexter.’ He was watching him on Instagram. ‘He funny. He a character,’” Dex explained. “A couple weeks go by. I was on the phone with Uzi. He was like, ‘You heard of this kid named Famous Dex before?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, somebody told me about him.’ He was like, ‘Yeah bro, his sh*t is fire.’ A couple days after that, I got in touch with him. He came out to LA. We linked up. He came to the studio. We hit up for three weeks straight before I signed him. I got to feel his vibe and see where his head at. After that, I already knew he was a star.”
