Rick Ross has officially apologized for an offensive lyrics uttered in song “U.N.E.N.O.” by Rocko.
“Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” he rapped.
“I dont condone rape.Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS
“Apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women. @ReebokClassics @ultraviolet,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
Many critics slammed the “100 Black Coffins” rapper after what many felt was an insincere apology during a New Orleans Q93.3 interview.
“There was a misunderstanding, a misinterpretation,” he said.
“I would never use the term ‘rape’ in my records. Hip hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that, nobody condones that,” he continued. “So I just wanted to reach out to all my queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding: We don’t condone rape, and I’m not with that.”
