A suspect has been arrested in the January murder of college student Kevin Baker, according to ABC Chicago.

William Paschal, 18, has reportedly been charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of murder.

Baker, a 19-year-old freshman at Harold Washington College, and his cousin Dominique, a senior at DePaul University, were approached by robbers that demanded their cellular devices, according to Chicago Tribune.

The robbers, CBS reports, emerged from a dark-colored van before approaching the two.

Baker and his cousin complied with orders, but the aspiring veterinarian was shot in the head and stomach. The shooter asked what gang Baker belonged to before firing.

Baker was taken to Christ Hospital where he later died.

Bake had dreams of becoming a veterinarian before his untimely demise.
