A teenager in Orem, Utah has made history. But it’s not something that would make his mother proud.
The 16-year-old became the youngest accused bank robber in Orem, according to KSL. He accomplished this feat after stealing his mother’s car and robbing two banks in a matter of 20 minutes.
Surprisingly, he didn’t even have to step foot inside either bank. Sgt. Craig Martinez told the Salt Lake Tribune they got a good description of the suspect after he allegedly robbed the Central Bank on State street before robbing the First Credit Union on Main street a short while later.
The suspect was able to make off with his loot after passing a note to tellers in a canister, according to authorities.
His mother’s car, a blue Toyota Corolla, was found a short distance from First Credit Union. The boy was later apprehended and stolen money recovered.
