Tyshawn Lee’s Father Charged With Shooting Girlfriend Of Suspect Who Allegedly Killed Son

Tyshawn Lee’s father, Pierre Stokes, is behind bars after he allegedly shot three people in South Side Chicago last week. One of the victims, according to the Chicago Tribune, is the 29-year-old girlfriend of Corey Morgan – the suspect accused of gunning down Tyshawn Lee.

Police responded to reports of battery in progress on March 8 and found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the left forearm, a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the right arm, according to ABC 7 Chicago. They were treated at local hospital and released.

Morgan’s girlfriend was grazed in the face and refused medical assistance.

The shooting occurred just hours after murder suspect Dwight Boon-Doty was denied bail for allegedly gunning down Tyshawn.

Stokes, 25, was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, according to DNAInfo.com.

CDP spokesman Anthony Guglielmi issued a statement detailing the challenges police face when dealing with rampant gang violence.

“Mr. Stokes, who was involved in a gang lifestyle, ultimately suffered an unspeakable loss with the calculated execution of his son,” the statement said. “Despite this, he continued to engage in the same gang activity that started this initial cycle of violence.

“CPD will continue our efforts to disrupt gang activity in Chicago and at the same time work with our community partners through our gang call-ins to try and urge gang members to see the casualties of that lifestyle and offer alternatives like job placement, training and education options,” the statement said.
