A Texas Southern University Graduate and former track star from Houston was stabbed 74 times in her own barracks, Daily Mail reports.

U.S. Soldier Brandy Fonteneaux, 28, was killed by a fellow soldier at Fort Carson in Colorado. She was stabbed 74 times in head, neck, chest, arms legs and back.

Sergeant Vincinte Jackson allegedly committed crime following a night of drinking. He is reportedly claiming temporary insanity at the time of gruesome attack.

Fonteneaux, who has been in the Army for two year, lived at the Colorado Springs bas and held rank of specialist. She was a food service specialist in the 4th Engineer Battalion.

Brandy’s mother Verona Fonteneaux called the attack “disgusting” and “heartbreaking.”

“She was my life, she’s my love,” she said in an interview with Fox 26. “And I’m going to miss her forever.”
