The world watch in shocked as Louisville Cardinal’s guard Kevin Ware suffered a potential career ending injury.
Rapper Wale took to Twitter to send prayers to Ware and the Louisville community.
“Man … God Bless Kevin Ware his family friends and teammates . Heartbreaking,” he wrote.
Ware suffered a broken lower leg after falling down hard on it during game play in the Elite Eight matchup.
With only 6:33 to go in the first half of game play; Ware shin snapped in half after attempting to contest a three-point shot by Tyler Thornton.
Ware’s bone broke through his skin after he landed.
An emotional scene occurred during the game’s seven-minute delay.
Guard Russ Smith cried upon seeing Ware’s injury. Several players were in shock and fear after seeing Ware.
Ware was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he underwent surgery.
Despite his injury, Louisville’s guard Kevin Ware was in high spirits after a successful surgery to repair his leg.
Ware even got to hold the regional NCAA Trophy in his hospital bed.
Louisville defeated Duke 85-63 to capture the regional crown.
