Lil Shawn has been found guilty of a 2015 murder. Lil Shawn, whose real name is Shawn Randall, was accused of gunning down a rival gang member in front of his girlfriend and three young children.

Jurors took a little longer than three hours to convict the 22-year-old rapper for the murder of Vallan Francis.

Shawn’s gang was reportedly beefing with Francis’ gang. On the afternoon of Friday, July 17, 2015, Francis, 22, was enjoying family time on the front lawn of his home with his fiancé and three children, ages 3, 4 and 7, when Lil Shawn allegedly rode his bicycling down the street. Francis and his fiancé scrambled to gather their children and their play items.

Francis was grabbing his daughter’s bicycle from the sidewalk when Shawn, wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood up and covering his face, allegedly fired his gun.

Francis was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Lil Shawn was captured in surveillance footage riding a bike in the direction of Francis’ home and running away after the shooting.

Shawn was on electronic monitoring at the time of the shooting and was gone from his home for over nine hours. He left his home at 12:52 p.m. on the day of the shooting and didn’t return until 10 p.m.

Shawn was on probation for a 2014 drug-possession conviction. Shawn, who was sentenced to two years probation, has violated his probation seven times. He currently has two pending violation charges.

The shooting occurred just months after the release of Young Pappy and Lil Shawn’s “Shooters.”

He faces a minimum of 45 years for Francis’ murder.
