Omega Psi Phi Caught Having Set in Dorm Room at Penn State

Two Penn State faculty members resigned and fraternity members were not permitted to walk at their graduation amid a hazing incident that took place on campus, The Centre Daily reports.


Omega Psi Phi fraternity members are accused of conducting hazing rituals in an on-campus Penn State dormitory.


Aaron Holloman, a resident life coordinator at Pennypacker Hall, allegedly left his room open for Graduate Assistant Claude Mayo an others to perform hazing rituals.


Someone saw Mayo allegedly entering the room with 10 men and notified authorities, United Press International reports.


Police went to the dorm and heard “slapping sounds” coming from the room, according to a police report obtained to the Centre Daily.


The report further stated police found “several paddles” in a bag after searching the room.


Penn State University issued a statement regarding the hazing allegations, including a separate that ivolved Asya Trowell, a student who aspired to become a member of Omega Psi Phi auxiliary group Omega Essence.


“Criminal charges have not yet been filed, though those may be forthcoming. The same is true for campus judicial charges. Those accused students who planned to graduate last weekend were prevented from doing so pending the outcome of these inquiries. One employee in Residence Life who has been accused in the matter was immediately placed on administrative leave and has since resigned. A graduate assistant who was overseeing a program within the College of Science and who also has been accused of misconduct has resigned as well”
