Mike Brown’s tragic shooting death sparked massive protests and riots throughout Ferguson, MO during the weekend. Brown, known affectionately by family and friends as Mike Mike, was allegedly unarmed when he was gunned down Saturday in a hail of bullets by police.



Community residents’ activism continued Sunday in protests. The large protests prompted the Ferguson Police Department to request the assistance of more than 100 officers from 15 departments, according to KMOV.

During the heated atmosphere, protestors shouted obscenities and threats in a confrontation that lasted several hours. Many protestors held their hands high and told the police: “Don’t Shoot.”

The protests soon boiled into a full-blown riot. Some of the protestors began looting area businesses and destroying public property.



Reports conflict on what led to Brown’s shooting death.

Ferguson police are alleging Brown struggle with the officer over his gun.

A male eyewitness provided first-hand account on the deadly police shooting that claimed Brown’s life.

“He [the police officer] kicked the door open, tried to hit [Mike Brown] with the door,” the eyewitness explained. “The door flew back, hit his leg. He pulled his gun out, shot inside the car… tried to hit him. He got out his car. Dude [Mike Brown] on his knees like this like ‘Bruh don’t shoot me.’ Dude shot him dead in the head. Then walked up to his body, shot him four more times. Looked at his eyes, paused for a min, shot him four more times.

The eyewitness alleged Brown didn’t run from the police.

“Motherf*ckers talking about he running from the police,” he explained. “For one, his shorts way down here. He got on flip-flops. How the f-ck he running from the police? Ferguson market up here. They talking about he stole some rellos.”



Piaget Crenshaw, 19, reportedly told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch she saw a police officer attempting to place Brown in the squad car around 2 p.m. Brown was allegedly shot as he attempted to flee from the officer.

Photos of Brown’s lifeless body lying in the street soon flooded social media.

Brown’s parents were distraught by their son’s tragic passing.

“…You don’t do a dog like that,” Brown’s mother Lesley Mcspadden told KMOV. “You didn’t have to shoot him eight times. If he was doing something to you, and you was trying to stop him, where do the police shoot you? In the leg. You just shot all through my baby body.”

Brown’s stepfather Louis Head was photoed holding a placard, reading, “Ferguson Police Just Executed My Unarmed Son!!!”



Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson told KMOV he was walking from a convenience store with the victim when they were confronted by the officer. The young men allegedly ignored the officer when told to get out of the street.

“He wasn’t causing any harm to nobody,” Johnson said. “We had no weapons on us at all.”

Johnson told St. Louis Fox 2 the officer reached his arm out of his window and grabbed the neck of Brown in an attempt to pull him in the squad car.

Johnson went on to describe the deadly shooting of Brown.

“He [the officer] shot again and once my friend felt that shot, he turn around and put his hands in the air,” Johnson told KMOV. “He started to get down and the officer still approached with his weapon drawn and fired several more shots.”

Brown was a 2014 Normandy High School graduate and scheduled to begin classes at Vatterot College On Monday.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid leave.

Ferguson Police Chief turned the investigation over to the St. Louis County Police.

According to the AP, the St. Louis County NAACP wants the FBI to investigate Brown’s fatal shooting.

The FBI announced Monday it was conducting its own separate investigation on the case.
