Rumors surfaced on the net earlier this week that Lil Jay was beat up so bad in Cook County he switched gang affiliations.
Lil Jay’s mother has since denied those allegations via the Clout Lord rapper’s IG account:
“So people don’t have anything better to do than spread stupid lies, smdh.My son is fine trust me he can handle his own, always have and always will. I see him every week and I talk to him several times a day…. So people stop with the vicious lies it’s not gonna work.”
Lil Jay was charged with murder in May. The FBG Clout Boy is being held without bail after his associate, Filmon N. Rezene, 25, died from injuries sustained in the shootout, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Lil Jay, 21, was charged in Rezene’s death along with Rakeem ‘Butta’ Wilton, 20; Roshinda Young, 22; Monique Lane-Calhoun, 25; and Brittany Dupree, 20.
Rezene appeared in Jay’s “Faneto (GMix)” music video.
Rezene was shot in self-defense following an argument with a 22-year-old man in Calumet City. Lil Jay, Rezene and the group allegedly went to purchase marijuana from the 22-year-old man, but an argument ultimately erupted. The group left and returned with a firearm provided by Rezene’s girlfriend Young.
The 22-year-old was shot four times but was also armed and fired back at Rezene, who was struck “several” times, prosecutors told the Sun-Times.
Lil Jay, Young, Lane-Calhoun and Butta were arrested at the scene after police spoke with the 22-year-old victim and witnesses. Police later arrested Dupree after spotting her leaving Lil Jay’s apartment with a bag of handguns, including two used in the shooting.
Rezene died May 15 from his injuries in Stroger Hospital.
Audio of Lil Jay surfaced onto the net Friday requesting fans donate him $100,000 via his GoFundMe account.
“I’m innocent,” he said. “I need yall to help me raise $100,000, so I can be free. Once I’m free, you’ll have seven free concerts, giving out free food and drinks and I’m autographing t-shirts.”
