16 Total Jacksonville State University Students Now Charged In Alpha Phi Alpha Hazing Case

Two more students have been charged in a brutal hazing incident at Jacksonville State University, bringing the total number of students arrested to 16, Fox 6 reports.

Quintin Day and Fidel Corfah are reportedly charged with one count of first-degree assault and two counts of hazing.

The Alpha Phi Alpha chapter at the university is under fire for alleged acts of hazing that left a pledge in the hospital for 24 days.

Former pledge Jason Horton filed a lawsuit alleging he was a victim of a number of hazing activities that included consuming large quantities of alcohol, being struck by eggs and being beaten for long periods of time with fists and paddles.

The other men charged in the hazing incident include Juston Patrick Daniel, 22; Benjamin Joshua Puckett, 23; Carl Robinson, 22; Rhyan Anthony Swanson, 24; Adeoye Deji Faleti, 23; Daniel Dwayne Covington, 22; Justavious Quintae Johnson, 22; Jeremy Deshaun Potts, 21; Roosevelt Morgan Jr., 21; and Mikel Deloch Whittier, 22, Antonio Jarrell Davis, 28; Eugene Thomas, 22; and 23-year-old Brandon Marquell Bush.

Horton’s liver, the complaint said, was enlarged and functioning at 50 percent, according to The Anniston Star. He was bleeding internally and his urine was black.

Before heading to hospital, Horton reportedly vomited blood. Members of the fraternity attempted to keep Horton from seeking medical attention by telling him it was tomato sauce he vomited.

The chapter has since been suspended from the campus.
