Authorities Still Searching for Virginia Tech Shooter

Authorities are still searching for the gunman who shot and killed a campus police officer and a student at Viriginia Tech University, the L.A. Times reports. All students and staff have been ordered to stay indoors until the shooter is found.

The shooter is described as a white male wearing gray sweat pants,a gray hat with a neon green brim, a maroon hoodie and backpack, according to a university alert.

State Police officers, FBI agents and officers with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are still scouring the university.

“We are looking absolutely everywhere,” university spokesman Mark Owczarski said Thursday afternoon to the L.A. Times.

Today’s shooting brought back painful memories of a shooting spree at the university more than 4 years ago. The shooting is the deadliest shooting incident by a single gunman in U.S. history.

The killing spree, orchestrated by Seung-hui Cho, left 32 people dead and wounded 25 others. Mr. Cho committed suicide before he can be captured.

A candle light vigil will be held tonight at 8pm at 4/16 Memorial.
