Fans are mourning the loss of Mississippi rapper Lil Lonnie who was fatally shot while sitting in his car Sunday night. Lonnie, whose real name is Lonnie Montrel Taylor, was driving his car through his hometown when an unknown person shot at it, killing him and leaving a female passenger unharmed.
Lonnie’s last post on IG featured him sitting in his vehicle with a caption, reading, “No going back…. You know imma keep it coming.”
Lil Lonnie attended Jackson State University, and was well known on the Jackson night.
Lonnie told DJ Smallz Eyes he was musically inspired by Boosie.
“I want to be the next icon people look up to. I want to motivate others around from where I’m from because not too many get the recognition I do, and I just want to bring that impact to where I’m from and help people out,” he said. “I’m willing to open the door to everybody.”
Boosie took to IG to mourn Lonnie’s loss.
