Chief Keef and Lil Wayne Named Most Profane Artists In New Study



Chief Keef can add another accolade under his belt. Sosa was named most profane artist in a new study conducted by Musixmatch.

The study analyzed lyrics from 361 artists from eight popular genres, including Hip Hop, Heavy Metal, Electronic, Pop, Indie Rock, Rock, Folk and Country. MusixMatch selected the most googled artists for their study.

Hip Hop and Heavy Metal were found to be the most profane genres. Hip Hop reportedly dominated total count and frequency of curse words with “n*gga,” “sh*t,” f*ck” and “b*tch” being the most frequent words used.

Lil Wayne was found to have the highest count of curse words (3,960) in his lyrics due to his higher count of albums. He is followed by Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and T.I.



Chief Keef uses swear words (964) most frequently amongst the 361 artists studied with one profane word used every 20 words. Sosa is followed by Dr. Dre, N.W.A., ASAP Rocky and Young Thug.
