Dlow And King Detro Promote Dance To Chicago Students To End Violence

Dlow and King Detro are doing their part to curb the violence in their hometown of Chicago. They’re doing it with the best talent they have- dance.

Fox 32 caught up with Dlow and Detro who performed at Tarkington Elementary in South Side Chicago.

“We just wanted to come to make the environment positive. Give them something to look forward to doing,” Dlow told Fox 32. “Turning up, having fun instead of being in a negative environment…we turn up with them.”

King Detro said he dances to “inspire” others.

“It’s more than violence out here,” he said. “Put the guns down.”

Detro added that he was once in violence, but “foot working” saved his life.

Dlow said anyone can be anything they want as long as they put their minds to it.

“Just chase your dreams,” he said. “I did it, you can d it, As long as you can stay focused, got the mindset to wanna do it. You can do it.”
