Rumors have swirled around social media that the newly released Gucci Mane is a government clone.
Word of Gucci clone has even gotten back to the CIA after the spy agency responded to a news inquiry submitted by Buzz Feed.
“Internet rumors are not news and the Office of Public Affairs will not waste time and them,” a spokesperson said.
Buzz Feed even reached out to the National Human Genome Research Institute. Spokeswoman Jeannine Mjoseth directed Buzz Feed to the organization’s public fact sheet on human cloning.
“Despite several highly publicized claims, human cloning still appears to be fiction,” the sheet reads. “There currently is no solid scientific evidence that anyone has clone human embryos.”
Last week, Guwop playfully addressed rumors of being a clone, saying he would neither deny nor confirm those allegations.
Drake, who collaborated with Guwop on song “Back On The Road,” posted a photo of himself with Gucci, Mike Will and Zaytoven onto his IG account, writing, “That ain’t no clone…Big Guwop home. @mikewillmadeit @zaytovenbeatz.”
Gucci has even taken to the studio to capitalize off the clone rumors.
Guwop raps, “Haters upset Gucci home, know these n****s wish Gucci gone/Wanna piece, got Gucci wrong/You gotta be me, you’s a Gucci clone.”
