Terrence Jenkins, known to many for his role as co-host of BET’s 106 & Park, took to Twitter to express his love for his HBCU and beloved fraternity.
Terrence Jenkins attended North Carolina A&T State University where he pledged Omega Psi Phi, the first black fraternity founded at a historically black university.
“I’m a proud graduate of the historically Black Colleges & Universities system,” Jenkins wrote.
“I’m a proud member of Omega Psi Phi and I support all Greek Letter organizations that uplift people,” he wrote.
Jenkins recently landed a job as a co-host of E! News, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Terence Jenkins will join Giuliana Rancic at the weekday anchor desk beginning November 12. Jenkins’ job duties include working on personality profiles and reporting for the entertainment news program.
Jenkins is excited about his new role saying, “I’ve always had a passion for the wide spectrum of pop culture that E! News covers so well; I can’t wait to get started. I’ve had a great career so far, and it’s all been building toward this.”
E! Entertainment is revamping its strategic plans to be a “bigger player in the competitive breaking news landscape under chairwoman Bonnie Hammer,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“Terrence Jenkins is a talented and well-connected television personality who will bring an original sensibility to our news programs,” E! President of network strategy and E! News Cyndi McClellannoted in a statement.
Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. is the first black fraternity found at a historically black college university. Founded on Nov. 17, 1911, the fraternity is dedicated to its Cardinal Principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift. The fraternity’s members include civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson, NBA legend Michael Jordan and comedian and philanthropist Bill Cosby, to name a few.
